God’s Good Timing

clock-gods.jpg

God will always give what is right to His people who cry to Him night and day, and He will not be slow to answer them. Luke 18:7

Why does God wait until the money is gone? Why does He wait until the sickness has lingered? Why does He choose to wait until the other side of the grave to answer prayers for healing? I don’t know. I know His timing is always right. I can only say he will do what is best. Though you hear nothing, He is speaking. Though you see nothing, He is acting. With God there are no accidents. Every incident is intended to bring us closer to Him. Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado

We have had 3 rough weeks at St Mark’s - two weeks of inclement weather, and a small gathering this past Sunday. Should we look at this attendance as a problem? Perhaps, but as I told the congregation, where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there. The reality of continuing as a small worshiping congregation is certainly finances. More importantly, it is the faithfulness of the members. Many smaller churches may face extinction, but there are numbers of them that continue to worship and find ways to serve their communities and God. Yes, we are small, but we have abundant dedication. We face challenges, but we also have those with ideas and energy. We can live in the past splits, hurts, grief, loss, and bitterness or we can be a small effective church of dedicated members who will invite and care for anyone in need. I challenge you to look at St Mark’s, not as a dying church, but rather, as a church that is ready to push the start button again.

Blessings, Deacon Nancy Trimble
